Benji Irani is a rising Toronto-born countertenor pursuing a Classical Vocal Performance degree at the University of Toronto. His artistry was showcased in 2026 through his portrayal of Toby in Menotti’s The Medium at the Summer Opera Lyric Theatre. Awarded the prestigious Robert William Bygrave Entrance Scholarship in Voice Studies, Benji contributes his voice to the UofT MacMillan Singers and is a distinguished alumnus of the Upper Canada Chorus. Beyond the operatic stage, Benji is a versatile musician with a passion for jazz and piano artistry. He finds inspiration through global travel and the cherished company of family and friends.

Benji Irani est un contre-ténor émergent, originaire de Toronto, terminant son diplôme en interprétation vocale classique à l'Université de Toronto. Son talent artistique s'est illustré en 2026 dans le rôle de Toby dans The Medium de Menotti au Summer Opera Lyric Theatre. Lauréat de la prestigieuse bourse Robert William Bygrave en études vocales, il prête sa voix aux MacMillan Singers et compte parmi les anciens élèves distingués de l'Upper Canada Chorus. Au-delà de la scène lyrique, Benji est un musicien polyvalent passionné par le jazz et le piano. Il puise son inspiration dans ses voyages et dans le cercle précieux de ses proches.
